Before I Die Wall

This chalk art exhibit, sponsored by The City of Dixon, The Downtown Business Association, and Yolo Hospice gives passerbyers a chance to contemplate what they have on their bucket list. Stop by to share you thoughts.

By The City of Dixon

Conceived by New Orleans artist Cincy Chang the concept has been adopted around the world.  When Chang lost a friend some years ago, she installed boards on a vacant building in her neighborhood, inviting all who desired to express themselves and their thoughts about life and death by completing the phrase “Before I Die I want to…”  Since then, more than 4,000 similar walls have been installed in seventy-one countries and in thirty-five languages.

Dixon’s wall is a partnership between Yolo Hospice, the Dixon Downtown Business Association (DDBA) and the City of Dixon.  It is located on the east-facing wall of Dixon Family Practice, at 131 W. A St., at the entrance to the Barn and Pantry.

We invite you to stop by and participate by recording those thoughts and aspirations important to you.  We believe that this new addition to Downtown will provide a positive reflection on our community.  The boards are available in both English and Spanish.
